  1. Magic 11 Sweden finishes up….

  2. Luck, Skill, and Norberg • Sweden’s women’s curling team took home gold. • In the semis, they beat China 9-4 • In the finals, Sweden needed to score two points in the final end to force an 11th end. • Canada had a chance to wipe them out, but their last shot gave skip Annette Norberg a chance to make the game continue. She did. • In the 11th end, Sweden had the 2 closest stones. Canada, however, had the hammer. • Canada’s throw hit Sweden’s stones, but Canada’s slid out of the house, giving Sweden the gold.

  3. Olsson Strikes Again • On the final day of competition, Johan Olsson scored his third medal of the games (a bronze) in the 50K mass start, just 1 second out of the lead. • PetterNorthug (Norway) won gold. • Marcus Hellner led the first half of the race, had trouble on a ski exchange, and slowed down. He finished 1:27 out. • Olsson sprinted into third when Swiss skier Dario Cologna fell on the final strait away. • Swedes Daniel Richardsson (7th) and Anders Soedergren (9th) finished in the top ten. Cologna finished 10th.

  4. Alpine Upset • Andre Myhrer won bronze in men’s slalom. • Gold: GiulianoRazzoli(Italy) • Silver: IvicaKostelic (Croatia) • Myhrer finished just .05 over Austrian Benjamin Raich, who was favored to win the event. • Myhrer was in 10th after the first run, but had the best 2nd run of anyone.
