  5. Objectives: • The aim of the lecture is to shed light on the form of the future & future continuous tenses. • The use of affirmative & negative . • The use of the verb be &going to • Information questions about the subject with will & be going to

  6. Be Going To • Be going + verb = specific future plants or intentions. • Commonly used in conversations and sounds like ( gonna, gunna)

  7. Uses • Future plans: I’m going to study to night. • He’s going to help me with my work. • Future intentions: We’re going to move on Sunday. • She’s going to take math this semester.

  8. Time Expressions • Later, after (in) a while, tomorrow, next, next( week, Sunday, month…etc) • This afternoon( evening, weekend,…etc)

  9. Statements with Be Going To • It has two forms • Long form: They aregoing to leave soon. • They are not going to leave soon. • Contracted form: Nuhais going to finish her work tonight. • Nuhais not going to finish her work tonight.

  10. Questions with Be going To • Yes/No questions • Is she going to travel tomorrow? Yes, she is (affirmative) No, she isn’t (negative) • Are they going to attend this afternoon? • Yes, they are No, they aren’t

  11. The Future Tense • Like going to, it expresses future: • Intentions: I’ll work much harder from now on. • Offers: Hayawill find some books for you. • Predictions : They’ll get batter grades next semester. • Promises: Manalwill do a good job next time. • Requests: Will you help me with my work.

  12. Statements in Simple Future • Affirmative: • I will study a lot this year. • I will not study a lot this year • Negative: • They will travel to Egypt this vacation. • They will not travel to Egypt this vacation

  13. Questions with the simple Future • Yes/No questions • Will you have classes to night? • Yes I will No I won’t • Will Noura come with us ? • Yes she will No she won’t
