  4. Hours of Operation: • Monday - Thursday 6:30 am-1:00 pm; 4:00-5:00 pm • Friday 7:00-11:30 am • Saturday 6:30-10:00 am (services on Sat. are breakfast, showers, and sign up for the shelter ONLY) • Phone: 254-296-9866, ext. 200 • Fax: 254-296-9488

  5. MEYER CENTER DRESS CODE • All clothing worn by participants must be modest and not contain any offensive messages. • NO: • Tank Tops • Spaghetti Straps • Sleeveless Shirts • Low-Cut Shirts • Tight Clothing • Short Skirts • Short Shorts • Exposed Midriffs • Sagging Pants • Racist, sexist, or non-Christian slogans • Bandanas   • Failure to comply by dress code may result in a denial of services • You may be asked to leave the property if your clothing is out of compliance

  6. Showers • Sign in for a shower; towels, soap, and shampoo are provided to you. • Please limit shower to 15 minutes. Hand front desk personnel your ID and return towel to desk when finished. • If there’s a line, wait in the Common Area for your name to be called. • MBK residents need to shower before they can sign up for the Shelter.

  8. My Brother’s Keeper (MBK Shelter) • Located at 1217 Mary St. • Check-in time is from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Shelter. • Chapel services are Mon.–Fri. from 7:00-7:45 pm. • The first 3 nights are free, nights 4-30 are $2 a night, and over 30 days is $5 per night. • Participants are allowed a maximum of 63 nights.

  9. Laundry • 50cents for Washer (includes laundry soap) • 50cents for Dryer • See front desk attendant to sign up and pay. • No new loads can be started one hour prior to closing. • Laundry days & times: Monday – Thursday 7:00 -11:30 am Friday 7:00 – 9:00 am

  11. Lockers • Available for MBK residents only. • You must provide your own lock. Hygiene Kits • Available for $1every 30 days

Benevolence, Referrals, & Encouragement • Monday & Wednesday 9:00-11:30 am • Tuesday & Thursday 4:00-5:00 pm • Friday 8:00-11:00 am • Sign in and wait in the Common Area for your name to be called. You will be served in the order your name was received. • Examples of assistance: • Bus passes: limited availability; for employment or health-related purposes. Appointments MUST be verified by an employee before bus passes are issued. • Identification assistance: help with obtaining birth certificate, social security card, driver’s license, or Texas ID. • Prescription assistance: need to have the prescription with you and the price. • *Be prepared to answer specific questions regarding your visit.

  14. Clothing Vouchers • Vouchers are given out on Tuesday-Thursday from 7:00-9:00 am. • 1st one is free; $1 after that; eligible every 60 days. • To redeem clothing voucher: Visit the Clothes Line, 1817 Franklin on Tues.-Thurs from 8:00 am-10:00 am. *Enter at the backside of the building painted green.

  16. Mail • Ask to have your name put on the list; mail will be checked every hour from 8 am to 1 pm and again at 4:30 pm. • You cannot pick up mail for someone else. • Mail can only be picked up at this location • Mailing address for your mail: Your Name1315 N 15th St. Waco, TX 76707

  19. Licensed Social Worker • Available for counseling, case management, goal setting, & referrals. • Monday - Thursday 9:30am-1:00 pm. Friday 9:00am-11:30am. • First come, First serve.

  20. Free GED Classes • Tuesday 9:00 am-1:00 pm • Wednesday 9:00am-1:00pm

  21. Job Training Class Times • Day Class: Tuesday-Thursday 9:00 am-3:30 pm • Night Class: Tuesday & Thursday 5:30-7:30 pm • Orientation • Monday or Friday 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm located on second floor clinic entrance; use buzzer beside elevator.

  23. Alcohol and Drug Recovery Support Group • Thursday from 6:30-7:30 pm • Meets in the kitchen area – Enter through the kitchen door located on the clinic entrance side. • Come find the support and help you need to change!

  24. Meyer Center Rules: • Zerotolerance for drinking alcohol, outbursts, and violent behavior on property. • The Meyer Center is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. Anything left outside of issued lockers will be donated to the Voucher Store or thrown away. • Do not enter the kitchen through the Common Area without an escort.

  25. Free Medical Clinic • Location: • Clinic side entrance • Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:00-7:00 pm • For those without insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, VA Health Care, or Family Health cards. • Dental needs: Call 254-296-0921, ext. 206 to schedule a screening (available only for MBK residents and Mission Waco program participants in dental pain.) • Free HIV Test and free condoms • Waco-McLennan County Public Health District 225 W. Waco Drive • Walk-ins welcome, but to schedule a test, call 254-750-5499

TB Skin Tests • Proof of current TB test is required to stay in the MBK Shelter • Given at the Meyer Center Donation Clinic on Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 pm • Must be read on Thursday from 5:00-7:00 pm • Veterans MUSTgo to the VA Medical Center, 4800 Memorial Drive, 8:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:30-4:00 pm. • Go to building 4 and present yourself as an outpatient.
