Key Detail: I fell in love with Langston Terrace the very first time I saw it. • Key Detail: We had a whole house all to ourselves • Key Detail: There were so many games to play and things to do. • Key Detail: It was a growing-up place, a good growing-up place; life was good. Not perfect, but good. • Main Idea: Langston Terrace was my home.

  5. Literary Analysis • 1. A. The years 1929-1940 were a period of financial hardship for man people in the United States. • B. Greenfield’s family was very poor, like so many others in the United States. As a child, the author did not seem to feel deprived of anything important. Her writing has a positive outlook.
