Day One: Main Ideas/Goals • Introduce School-wide PBS • What is it? • What are the core features? • What does it look like in real schools? • Understand effective application of PBS systems • Review the process for adopting School-wide PBS • What are the commitments? • How do we determine how we go forward using self-assessment? • How do we build commitment with our faculty?

  2. Day One: Themes • Use evidence-based practices • Establish social culture • Implement multiple systems needed for effective discipline • Use smallest change to produce largest effect • Never stop doing what is working • Use data for decision-making • Work together • Work efficiently

Day Two: Main Ideas/Goals • Understand effective responses to problem behavior • Review implementation features of PBS • Self-evaluate Implementation and Outcomes associated with School-wide PBS • EBS Survey, School Safety Survey, Team Checklist, Office Discipline Referrals, SET • Link School-wide PBS approach and “bully proofing” logic • Review effective instructional approach to teaching school-wide behavior expectations

Day Three: Main Ideas/Goals • Examine the extent to which the logic of School-wide Positive Behavior Support (PBS) fits your real experience in schools • Define the outcomes for School-wide PBS • Is School-wide PBS related to reduction in problem behavior? • Is School-wide PBS related to improved school safety? • Is School-wide PBS related to improved academic performance? • Define tools for measuring School-wide PBS outcomes • Examine a problem-solving approach for using office discipline referral (ODR) data for decision-making • Provide strategies for using data for decision-making and action planning

  7. Day Four: Main Ideas/Goals • Be familiar with the unique features of specific settings • Understand both management, systems, and features of specific settings • Be able to apply the general process for designing specific setting interventions
