  2. British did not realize the threat of natives • War broke out • May 1763 Pontiac & an army of warriors planned an attack against the British at Fort Detroit • British were prepared

  3. Few days later, Natives surrounded Fort Detroit and laid a siege • 65 Native canoes blocked all waterways to the fort • Natives attacked many British forts, several were seized and many settlers were killed or displaced

  4. Evil Tactics • British ‘awarded’ the Natives with small metal boxes including pieces of blankets with ‘special powers’ • Natives shared the pieces amongst their group What do you think happened?
