  2. Letusoverview traditional meeting places of youngpeople. Because due to the different roles inthesocietyof boys and girls, young people do not have too many opportunities to get to knoweachother. The meetings were held during the cold months, as there was a lot to do duringthesummer. These meetings were held in the largest house in the village. Girls brought handicrafts, spun wool. During these meetingspeoplesangsongs and danced. Some people still rememberthesemeetings, especiallyour grandparents.Other opportunity to meet other young people were fairs, festivals, organizing sleigh parties in the villages. The fact that the boy or a girl was ready to getmarried was shown by:- paintedwindow shutters, fence and walls of thehouseweredecoratedin blue,-  hanging a wreath - a symbol of virginity.

  3. Many peopletook care of the issue of havinga nice garden. Flowersfromsuch garden a fewtimeshelped to match pairs.Also thematchmakerswereveryimportant. They first looked for a girl who will matchthecertain boy, thenthey went with a got-to-bebachelor and his fatherto the houseof the miss. Finaldecision was made by thefather of the girl. Ifhethoughtthattheyoungman was a proper one, onlythenhegavethepermission to marriage.

  4. Engagement Engagement, initially held among the immediate family, becamemoreimportant and richceremonyover the time. Theprocession of thegatheredpeoplemarched to the house of thebride. At the front of the processionmarched want-to- be groom, then parents, musicians, neighbours, and matchmakers. Thesoon-to-be youngcoupleweretreatedwith vodka and bread. Before the mainmealthat was waiting in the house of thebride, thecoupledipped the piece of breadin salt and ate it. Then, thehands of coupleweretied together with a scarf.

  5. Day before the wedding Tradition saysthatthestag and hen partiesshould be held, and thetradition of ogranizingtheseis long. Thesepartiesare held the night before the wedding. The leader of theprocession, bestwoman and matchmakersarriveatthebride’s house. Bridesmaidsadornflowers intothe bride's plait. The groom says goodbye at the same time to his friends bachelors. In this farewell, women do not participate. In the morning groom appears before the house of the bride. Then the bride says goodbye to his family and jumps into decorated car.

  6. Polish Wedding is prepared and conductedaccording to an old tradition. Eachfatherwants to give his daughter a worthy and decent husband. Weddingisbeingprepared for months. Groom's family collect money for beverages and themusic band. Bride’sfamilyisresponsible for theweddingreception. Fun at the wedding reception and thedayafter could take up to a week time.Whenthecouplegetsinto to the car and theyare on theirway to thechurchneighbours, theirfriends, and otherpeopleprepare so called „gateways”. In order to be able to pass suchgatewaythebestman, whoisdrivingwiththeyoungcouplemustnegotiatewiththegateway’sguardshow much hemustpay to be able to pass it. Aftertheweddingceremonytheyoungcouplegoes to theballroom. Their parentsgreetthem with bread and salt. The reception begins with a dinner. At midnight, the „oczepiny” ritetakes place. Thebridetakesoffherveil and throwsitintothecrowd of gatheredunmarriedwomen. Themaidwho will catchit will marrysoon.
