  3. General Class Procedures • Connections Schedule (student agenda p.3) • Emergency Procedures (fire & tornado maps) • Restroom Procedures (breaks are in core academics)

  4. Tardies & Absences (student agenda p. 4) • Be on time to class! If you enter the class after the bell or when the door is locked- You are LATE! Make sure you have a signed pass from your teacher, or you will have an unexcused tardy. • Missing Class/Absences– It is YOUR responsibility to get your missed work. It will always be posted on the course calendar in eClass, so make sure you review it from home. • You may only leave the room with permission from me. Restrooms breaks will be limited and only one person can be out of the room at a time. You must have your agenda and sign-out on the clipboard.

LA Connections Overview • This connections class is designed to meet your specific skill needs in Language Arts so that YOU are prepared for success in your regular Language Arts class. • The curriculum will center around a Language Arts program called Classworks, and any additional activities that will individually assess your skills. You will receive small group instruction on skills not mastered from the program. • You will know what is required each day by reading over the calendar assignments when you arrive and log-in.

  6. Language Arts Lab Procedures & Materials Needed (write in agenda) • Come in to class, log on and plug in YOUR headphones. (student agenda p.6) • You will need to have a spiral notebook*, something with which to write (pencil), and your agenda on your desk. (Pencils should be sharpened BEFORE you come to class!) • All personal property should be stored under your computer deskand NOT behind you on the chair or in the aisle. • Supply contributions for our class include: tissue box, box of band aids, dry erase markers, hand sanitizer

  7. FOOD, WATER, GUM(student agenda p.7) • Food is to be eaten in the lunchroom, not in classrooms, especially in a computer lab. No snacks will be allowed in this class. • Water bottles are OK in class, but must have a top… you have expensive computers sitting in front of you. Please keep them on the floor. (No colored drinks for any reason in the classroom.) • GUM IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE SCHOOL- I don’t care what other teachers allow you to do. • You will be required to spit it out in a if you are caught with it! Next time will be a detention.

  8. Transition to next class… • You will take ALL personal belongings with you, except your notebook. • Log off your computer and push in your chair. • Keyboards are to be placed back on the top of the computer. • Any borrowed headphones should be returned to the teacher. • Pick up all trash and debris around your area. • You will be excused by teams that are ready, and then go directly to your next class. • Place your notebook in the basket as you leave.

  9. HALL Transition – 7B ONLY • You will walk in a straight line on the left side of the hallway. We have only a few minutes to walk back to classes so I will walk you to your hallways. • Remember- you represent yourself, your peers, and me. You are to be respectful and behave appropriately in the halls. • You do not stop for water or the restroom without permission from your teacher. • You do not touch, write upon, or rip any thing posted on the walls– be respectful. !

BMS Discipline Plan • Assertive Discipline Plan- Any time you are given a warning or consequence for your actions you will be informed. • If necessary, you can ask at an appropriate time to talk with me privately. • First Time- Warning • Second Time- Time-Out at Computer • Third Time- Teacher Detention + Phone Call Home • Fourth Time- Referral to Administrator + Phone Call Home

Technology Devices • Students may charge their PD’s in the lab, but the PD needs to be on the top corner of the desk with the screen facing down. • Cell phones or other electronics must be turned off unless being used for the lesson. • Consequences: • 1st offense- I will ask you to put it up. • 2nd offense- you will receive a teacher detention. • 3rd offense- you will receive an administrative referral.

  12. HELP DAY • Every Wednesday at 8:15 is help day. All teachers are available on this day from 8:15 until 8:50. Students can visit any teacher during this time. • This time is to be used for make up work, make up tests/quizzes/projects, help and tutoring, or for homework or class questions. • If you need more help- see your teacher privately.
