  7. STUDENT LAP TOP COMPUTERS • ISSUED ___9/8/12____ • Blackboard is the LEARNING MANGEMENT SYTEM • PAYMENTS MAY BE DIVIDED • $60 NONREFUNDABLE FEE • A VARIETY OF LESSONS, LABS, AND TESTS WILL REQUIRE A LAPTOP

  9. When you get your laptop, all students must: Join my class on DyKnow software Have your parent/gaurdian sign up for Parent connection to Gradespeed

Bio EOC re-testers… may get/study the BIO DYNANOTES (available in book room) • Dynanotes is a 3 fold laminated “cheat sheet” summary of all the topics we cover. • GOOD study tool • You must ask for it like a “textbook” when textbooks are issued and you must return it just like a textbook or you will be fined.

GRADING GUIDELINES • 60% MAJOR GRADES(TESTS,BENCHMARKS, COMMON ASSESSMENTS, MAJOR LABS/PROJECTS) • 30% DAILY GRADES(CLASSWORK,QUIZZES, MINOR LABS, ACTIVITIES) • 10% HOMEWORK(ANY ASSIGNMENT WHERE NO CLASS TIME WAS ALLOWED) • A= 100-90% B= 89-80% C= 75-79% D= 74-70% F= 69-below…(D’s and F’s will generate a phone call to parent/gaurdian)

TURNING IN WORK • USE THE PROPER TRAY OR ELECTRONIC DROP BOX. • MAKE SURE IT HAS YOUR FULL NAME, PERIOD AND ON THE PAPER • Late work will be penalized-10 % off for each day it is late, and after the 3rd day the work will not receive a graded value higher than a 50 • NEVER COPY/BORROW/ OR TAKE/TOUCH ANYONE ELSE’S WORK/LAPTOP/PERSONAL BELONGINGS

  13. CONDUCT • OBEY ALL HANDBOOK AND CLASSROOM RULES(LEARN THE 4 P’s) • ONE VERBAL WARNING • ONE WRITTEN WARNING • PARENT CONTACT AND/OR DISCIPLINE REFFERAL • SOME STEPS MAY BE BY-PASSSED BASED ON THE SITUATION

CLASSROOM RULES • THE 4 P’S • Preparation-be ready for class (in your seat sitting silently when the bell rings) • Prevent- stop yourself from disturbing the class & instructor with actions that are not lesson-related. • Permission-ask before you act. • Pride- have it in your work & respect others.

  15. MAKE UP WORK AND MISSED TESTS • AFTER ANY ABSENCE, CHECK THE BLACKBOARD DAILY NOTICE AND WITH THE TEACHER • COMPLETE THE WORK AND TURN IT IN PROMPTLY • IF THERE IS NO WORK, SEE ME BEFORE YOU LEAVE • Make up tests/test corrections are NOT given in class. Come before or after school (6:50 am to 7:20am; OR 2:30pm to 3:00pm) Make an appointment with me. Failure to show up will result in a zero.

  16. TEST DAYS • For 2014-2015*, OUR TEST DAYS ARE Wednesdays and Fridays. *SOME EXCEPTIONS TO THIS MAYBE NECESSARY

TARDIES AND DISMISSAL • IF THE TARDY BELL HAS RUNG, GO TO YOUR PRINCIPAL FOR A TARDY SLIP(HAND SLIP TO OUR CLASS ATTENDANCE PERSON, OR QUIETLY PUT IT ON THE DESK AND SIT DOWN) • 16 MINUTES OR MORE COUNTS AS AN ABSENCE. • BE IN YOUR SEAT AND QUIET BEFORE THE BELL RINGS. IF YOU ARE NOT SEATED, YOU ARE ACTUALLY DISTURBING MY CLASS/ LESSON/ WARMUP! • IF WE FINISH LESSON EARLY, REMAIN IN YOUR SEAT(NO HANGING BY THE DOOR, EVER!)

  18. PASSES to nurse/restroom ARE LIMITED • EMERGENCIES ONLY

  19. Evacuation drills, PRIMARY ROUTE, AND SECONDARY ROUTE • EXIT THE ROOM, • NO STOPPING/VISITING: YOU MUST REPORT TO ME FOR ATTENDANCE PURPOSES AND STAY WITH ME. • WHEN SIGNALED, COME BACK TO CLASS USING SAME ROUTE, NO WANDERING • Primary exit: Straight to Stairway F down the stairs and use exit 47 Misty Valley side. When outside, TURN LEFT, parking SPOT 191 in the Student parking lot • Second choice: Straight to Stairway G (go past F) down the stairs and use exit 47 Misty Valley side; turn right ,go to Wunderlich Field lot.

  20. E instruction • Locate your clicker before bell rings for warm-up. • Return clicker to proper seat # or pocket when done.
