Areas of Work • New organization formed Wednesday evening! • Many contributions to consider from both parent bodies • Met Wednesday evening and Thursday • Working out internal practices • Working out several fundamental needs • Requirements • Relationship to Systems • Need for Implementation Study • Methods for conducting core experiments

JVT Requirements • Adopted JVT Requirements document • Consideration of scalability • At least one significant contribution • However, we don’t expect to be able to achieve support of scalability within the established schedule • Recommend that advanced scalability be investigated in MPEG as potential for aPhase 2 project timeline to consider in May

  4. Relationship to Systems andFile Storage Format • Discussed with MPEG Systems group • Important to have a maximally-common solution • Particularly important to have one RTP transport method • Need to identify common aspects for a variety of systems • Sorting out relationship between H.26L “Network Adaptation Layer” and systems level • Interim file format for converging toward MP4 • Ad Hoc Group established

New Joint Working Draft (JWD 1) with Joint Model (JM 1)Reference Encoder Design • ITU-T H.26L TML-9 as starting basis • Add three additional proposed features • 16x16 Planar Intra Prediction Improvement • Generalized Enhanced Reference Picture Selection • An interim file format for use in experiments and for convergence toward use of the MP4 file format

  6. Future Work • 14 Ad Hoc groups established! • Creating email reflector, ftp site, etc. • Plan to meet at end of January • Schedule follows per Terms of Reference • Finish in about a year

  7. Specific Requests forParent Body Action • Approval of two liaison statements(to IMTC and IETF AVT) • Approval of press release content
