  4. THINK- what are each cell parts job, click for answer.

  5. Cell Wall • Only in a plant cell, not animal • Surrounds the cell • Protects the cell • Supports the cell HOME

  6. Cell Membrane • Inside cell wall layer in plant cell • Outermost part of animal cell • Separates cell from environment • Controls substances that enter and exit the cell HOME

  7. Chloroplasts • Use sunlight to produce food for the cell • Kind of like a solar panel HOME

  8. Golgi Bodies • Like a messenger • Sends substances throughout the cell • Also release materials outside the cell HOME

  9. Lysosomes • Small • Have chemicals that break down food particles and worn cell parts HOME

  10. Nucleus • “Control Center” of cell • Directs all cell activity HOME

  11. Ribosomes • Small • Function as factories to produce protein Protein HOME

  12. Vacuole • Stores water, waste, food and other materials HOME

  13. Cytoplasm • Gel like fluid • Holds many cell organelles HOME

  14. Mitochondria • Rod shaped • Produces most of cells energy HOME

  15. Chromatin • Thin strands • Inside nucleus • They give “directions” for directing cell activity/functions HOME

  16. Endoplasmic Reticulum • Maze of passageways • Carry protein and other needed substances in the cell End/Credits
