  1. Supersites entry portal Presented by Francesco Casu (CNR/IREA) on behalf of Wolfgang Lengert (ERS and ADM Aeolus Mission Manager)

  2. Supersites Exploitation Platform (SSEP) SSEP is meant to allow scientists to easily exploit EO data resources by combining fast data access, processing facilities and flexibility for the user own data analysis Data Access: up to 100TB of data spanning an observation period of 20 years (ERS/ENVISAT from Virtual Archive 4) Processing Services: enable users to invoke processing of data available in the repository using CNR SBAS, NEST, GAMMA Platform Services: availability of virtual hosts (sandboxes) Community: 150 scientists, collaboration with the European Plate Observing System (EPOS) and USGS

  3. EO data in-situ data Supersites Exploitation Platform (SSEP) EC projects? China? Japan? Africa ? e-Infrastructure: - Interface - Computing - Data Mining Tools & Results Universities Research Centers SMEs Crowd sourcing

  4. Helix Nebula – The Science Cloud • Strategic Plan • Establish multi-tenant, multi-provider cloud infrastructure • Identify and adopt policies for trust, security and privacy • Create governance structure • Define funding schemes To support the computing capacity needs for the ATLAS experiment • Setting up a new service to simplify analysis of large genomes, for a deeper insight into evolution and biodiversity • To create an Earth Observation platform, focusing on earthquake and volcano research Adopters

  5. SSEP Work in Progress and Next Steps (2013) • Open the data accessto scientific community • Complete and deploytools(suchas SBAS-InSAR time series from CNR and Commercial tools from SMEs and open source) on demand on HN • Allowusers (scientists) to process data on dedicatedsandboxes; for algorithmdevelopment and small data processing • Provideusers (scientists) to accesslarge data processing where to deploy and exploit theirapplications via a portal Aiming at the creation of an Ecosystem

  6. Contributors to Ecosystem

  7. Supersites Exploitation Platform Concept Mock-up

  8. Supersites Exploitation Platform Concept Mock-up

  9. Final Considerations Seamless access to all data is still missing We will work on the draft document currently circulated to make it fit to the overall system
