  1. Capital Program Update3-13-07

  2. Maintenance Garage • On schedule - Final Completion is May 19, 2007 but the District needs to move in April because the Brown Daub lease expires • Work Completed • The building is 90% complete. Sitework is 90% complete. Generator has been set. District is installing shelving • Work in progress • District move preparations, HVAC start-up, final code inspections

  3. High School Tech Ed Project District moved equipment to Tech Ed over Christmas and received occupancy on 1/22/06. Many second floor punchlist items were addressed over the holiday Work Completed Conditional Occupancy obtained 1/22, elevator has been certified, shop equipment is installed and connected, shop tables are installed Work in Progress Final inspections, District is installing TV Studio TV Studio Electrical Change Order: $6,500.00

  4. New 7-8 Building Property Acqusition • Resolution by the Board on the Calandra property is required. Complete • A public hearing is required (December) to review the acquisition. Complete • Board approves PlanCon C. Complete • The District needs 2 updated appraisals Complete • PDE approves PlanCon C Submitted and under review • Determine next steps

  5. New 7-8 Building PLANCON • Board votes on the resolution. Complete • PDE reviews and checks the Act 34 documents. Complete • The District advertises for the Act 34 Hearing for a minimum of 21 days before hearing Complete • Act 34 Hearing Complete • Act 34 waiting period is 30 days following the hearing Complete • Board approves PlanCon D & E Complete • PlanCon E teleconference Complete • Board approval PlanCon F prior to bidding

  6. New 7-8 Building Other Items • Intersection agreement. Supervisors and District have passed resolutions. Agreement being drafted. • Phase II Archeological investigation is complete. A report has been filed with the State. Awaiting approval & Phase III proposal. This work is a prerequisite for DEP project permit. • Township Supervisor Preliminary Approval. Complete with conditions on intersection and Mitchell one-way.

  7. New 7-8 Building • DEI investigated design changes to reduce construction. Board directed final decision on pool, auditorium, etc in Feb. Architect adjusted floorplan for add’l efficiencies. • Design team performed final evaluation of bid document preparation and anticipated the schedule for receipt of the municipal and regulatory approvals required to bid the project. There are no guarantees. • Anticipated bid documents release in first week of June. Recommend 6 week bid period. • Need to coordinate Board action dates for end of July/early August. • Bid documents will include alternate option for completion by original 8/09 completion date or 11/09.

  8. Other Capital Projects • Board Room HVAC Replacement – HVAC work is complete. Doors have been installed. • Stadium synthetic field – Bids 3/15. Approval rec’d Northampton Conservation District . April 1 Construction start • Capital Plan Update – Meetings have been completed, proposed summer projects identified, draft list will be submitted through Superintendent • 4-5-6 Building Conversion – Meetings have been completed and scope identified.

  9. Future Capital Projects • High School Classroom Expansions (Not Board approved) – A review of the budgeted scope and budget was completed. Options need to be explored • Bridge between new MS and HS (Not Board approved) – The pending DEP permit contains information related to this project.
