AMC is not only providing ammunition and other supplies. In fact, we are providing quite a few personnel to support current operations.
AMC has over 4,000 contractors in far away places throughout the world in support of current operations.
As you can see, in most instances, there are more contractors than military and civilians.
This in fact brings on some unique issues that we must face (next chart).Military-AC: 1,204

5: 5 GEN Griffin’s talking points:
There are 26 major AMC BRAC actions.
Summary of BRAC actions affecting AMC special installations and/or AMC missions:
- 9 closures
4 AAP’s and 3 chem depots (BRAC language allows closure well after BRAC window once chem demil mission completed IAW treaty obligations).
2 IMCOM installations with AMC missions – Ft Monmouth and Selfridge
- Remaining actions are realignments that affect AMC.
Additionally, some AMC special installations have been affected by the RC transformation decisions of BRAC 2005 such as IAAAP which will have a new AFRC constructed.
BRAC 2005 is considered the most complex BRAC round yet – much more interservice and RC actions.
We’re going to spend the next hour talking about the BRAC moves that are the most personal to us at Fort Belvoir. Of course, those are the HQAMC and USASAC moves.
