  1. Guided Reading PDU Cynthia Gonzalez Archuleta 2011-2012

  2. 6 Week Data Cycle Pre-assessment 1st formative assessment 2nd formative assessment Post-assessment 3rd formative assessment

  3. Short Vowels • Using kinesthetics is my teaching style because I know there is more understanding when children are able to include movements. With that in mind, I introduced this tree map along with gestures.

  4. Reading Levels Data Chart

  5. What I’ve done Old New Changed my literacy stations to include 3 guided reading groups!

  6. Reflection • I enrolled in this PDU with the purpose of building my knowledge in a way that I can be a successful teacher. It is important to me that my students are successful and I feel that these data charts have made them accountable for their learning and has impacted their interest in achieving. When they see that a student excels, I can see joy in them, but at the same time a look of “I want to be there!”

  7. Next Steps • Continue what I am doing and incorporate all that I have learned to help my students become successful readers. I want them to learn to read, but above all to love to read!
