Who are our clients? • 78% have fewer than 50 employees – and most (60%) of them have fewer than 20 • Do not typically have large, developed R&D departments • Limited management capacity • Limited networks nationally and internationally • Have difficulty accessing or sourcing investment capital • Want to grow • Want to build their innovation capability 11

  14. $80 million over 2-3 years (until March 2014) Objectives: to boost the productivity of Canadian SMEs through the adoption of digital technology. Differences: productivity v. innovation technology adoption v. technology development full engagement strong learning component strong performance measurement component DTAPP

  17. Program led by PWGSC, in partnership with IRAP to develop the Program content and review process $40M over 2 years (ending in 2012-2013) IRAP’s main role is to evaluate the bids submitted by Canadian firms Canadian Innovation Commercialization Program (CICP)
