WHAT MAKES A PERSON GREAT?WHAT WOULD A PERSON HAVE TO DO TO BE CALLED A “GREAT” FIGURE IN HISTORY? • The amount of influence that they have had on human • history and on the everyday lives of other human beings. • Have had a major impact beyond one country or region. • Have influenced many different areas of human • civilization: religion, politics, economics, culture, • technology, warfare …… • Have overcome great obstacles to achieve their goals.

The Greatest Pharaoh: Reading Activity • Move to the side of the room that is studying the particular pharaoh assigned. • Work in groups of three to read the textual sources provided (One person=one page). • Use your shared knowledge to answer the questions about your pharaoh. (15 minutes) • Meet with a student that has researched the other pharaoh. Exchange knowledge about each Pharaoh and write answers to all the questions. (10 minutes)
