  1. Research in the field of colour blindness treatment is giving some positive results As per estimates available it has been found that almost 300 million people in the world are colour blind. And, it has been found to affect men more as compared to women. Almost 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women suffer from colour blindness in the world. Being a genetic disorder, there are not really any known methods of colour blindness treatment except that some research in the field has shown positive signs that the disorder can be cured. What is it? As it is clear from the name, colour blindness is the inability of the eye to differentiate between colours. When a person is 100% colour blind, he is only able to see things in black and grey. However, such cases are very rare. Most people have issues differentiating between two colours. The problem associated with colour blindness lies in the fact that the light-detecting cells in the eyes of the person –cones – are either absent or do not work properly. The human eye has three types of such cone cells that are responsible for distinguishing the three elementary colours – red, blue and green. If cones cells pertaining to one of the colours is absent, the person is unable to interpret that particular colour and has partial colour blindness. If all the three types of cells are absent, then the person has severe case of the disorder. Treatment of colour blindness is a topic that still perplexes scientists and doctors. There have been cases where after thorough research for years have yielded enthusiastic results. The overall scenario, however, in the context of curing colour blindness is grim because of the fact that it is present in the person from birth. For people who have acquired the defect during their growing years have still a ray of hope because it has been found that such people are able to react better to colour blindness treatment methods. As the treatment options are less on the whole, people who suffer from colour blindness are generally advised to wear special lens and glasses to be able to differentiate between colours better. The only good thing about this defect is that it does not harm the vision of the eyes – which means that the person is capable of having perfect or near-perfect vision even when suffering from this issue. Positive News about treatment of colour blindness Many individuals, private, public and government sponsored organizations have been working in the field of finding a cure for colour blindness. The good news is

  2. that some private clinics and research organizations have discovered the way to rectify colour blindness. Some researchers have reported colour blindness treatment in India by exciting biomolecular peptides present in the retina of the eyes. Doing this leads to growth and development of newer neurons in the cone cells thereby helping the patient recover maximum from the deficiency. As more and more research take place in the field of colour blindness treatment, it is highly likely that very soon an increasing number of affected person will be able to recover cent percent from the issue.
