  3. This is a Project on Angelina Jolie showing why she is a great world leader. The reasons why I did my project on Angelina Jolie was because of her talent and humanitarian work. In my knowledge I knew she was an amazing actress and that she appeared in many films. But me as a person who is completely inspired by films and acting, I find it quite interesting to do her. Although many people know her for her fame, I felt that people should know her early I life and commitment to charity because many people don’t know her background , e early life and dreadful teenage years. I believe that she is a good role model to look up to as she faces her hard times and moves on to make her life more livable, and to live a life that she herself can be proud of one day in the future. So sit back and please enjoy my project on Angelina Jolie's Life and good works!!!

  5. Background Angelina born in Los Angeles, California, is the daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. She is the sister of actor James Haven and niece of singer-songwriter Chip Taylor. On her father's side, Angelina is of German and Slovak descent and on her mother's side, she is of French Canadian, Dutch, and German ancestry. In her earliest years, Angelina began absorbing the acting craft from her parents. Her dad is the Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight and her mother is Marcheline Bertrand, who had studied with Lee Strasberg. At age 11, Angelina began studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, where she was seen in several stage productions.

  6. Early Life After her parents separated in 1976, Angelina and her brother lived with their mom, who abandoned her acting to focus on raising her children. As a child, Angelina saw movies with her mother and later explained that this had inspired her interest in acting but not influenced by her dad. When she was six years old, her mom and stepdad, filmmaker Bill Day, moved to  Palisades, New York. They returned to LA five years later. At the age of 14, Jolie dropped out of her acting classes and wanted to become a funeral director. She began working as a fashion model and modelled mainly in LA, New York, and London.

  7. During her teenage years, she wore black clothing and experimented with knives . She graduated from high school and returned to theatre studies. Angelina suffered episodes of suicidal depression throughout her teens and early twenties. She felt lonely at Beverly Hills High School among other kids. As her mother survived on a more modest income she was teased by other students, who targeted her for being extremely thin and for wearing glasses and braces. She found it difficult to emotionally connect with other people, and as a result she started to harm herself. She said "I collected knives and always had certain things around. For some reason, the ritual of having cut myself and feeling the pain, maybe feeling alive, feeling some kind of release, it was somehow therapeutic to me." She also began experimenting with drugs. By the age of 20, she had tried just about every drug possible including heroin. Angelina has had a difficult relationship with her father. Due her parents breakup she was estranged from her father for many years. They reconciled and he appeared with her in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, but their relationship again got worse.  In July 2002, Angelina who had used her middle name as a stage name to make her own identity as an actress filed a request to legally drop Voight as her surname, which was granted on September 12, 2002.

The public paid $275 million for theatre tickets. Afterwards she became powerful and appeared in many films. Jolie then starred with Brad Pitt in  Mr. & Mrs. Smith. In her new role, she focused on major crises’ resulting in population displacements and representing UNHCR and Guterres at the diplomatic level and also with decision making on global issues. Angelina Lolie has done many countless things for the UNHCR and she aims to visit what she terms "forgotten emergencies," crises that media attention has got away from. She visited the Darfur region of Sudan during the Darfur conflict in 2004,  Chad during its civil war in 2007, Iraq during the Second Gulf War in 2007 and 2009, Afghanistan during the ongoing war in 2008 and 2011 and Libya during the Libyan revolution in 2011. 12. In 2003 Angelina Jolie created the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation for the conservation of Cambodia’s endangered Cardamom Mountains. The focus of its conservation work was on the protection of Samlout National Park. Samlout contains most of the region’s forests, freshwater ecosystems, and endangered species. As more resources became available, MJP’s operations expanded into other areas such as reforestation, community protected area and park. In 2007, the organization changed its name to Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, retaining the MJP initials, to better reflect the scope of its field projects. Achieving food security and nutritional wellbeing has been central to MJP’s poverty programme in Samlout. Achieving the educational targets in Samlout is a complex undertaking requiring multiple, interventions. To make sure that interventions are educationally sound, practical and sustainable the MJP education team continues to access the expertise and experience of educational partners both within Cambodia and internationally. Over 700 villagers live in Samlout. Since the end of the civil war in 1979, Samlout commune lacked the health facilities and medical practitioners needed to ensure basic quality health services for a growing population. Inadequate private clinics operate in the area with poorly trained and non-licensed medical assistants.
