  3. CSCOPE Planning Process • New Course Development for 2008-09 • VADs, YAGs, IFDs, and TEKS Verification Matrices will provided for the following new courses: - In progress - Environmental Systems - Pre-calculus - Currently securing writer - Government - Economics

  4. COURSES 2008-2009 *Introduced in 2008-2009 Spanish Language Arts available for grades K-6.

  5. Timeline • Vertical Alignment Documents - June 1, 2008, unless otherwise noted • Enhancement Addendum for VADs • College Readiness Standards (CRS) – Crosswalk document • CRS will be incorporated into VADs once decision for integration is issued by TEA

  6. Timeline • Years at a Glance - June 1, 2008, unless otherwise noted • Based on feedback from the field, certain units will be moved. • Unit moves will be minimal to keep instructional system stable

  7. Timeline • Years at a Glance enhancement addendum documents available by June 1st • Years at a Glance documents will now include suggested days.

  8. Timeline • Years at a Glance documents will include a reference to the TEKS Verification for the process TEKS taught in the instructional units. • The Unit Map wording in the CSCOPE Developer has been replaced with the words Year at a Glance.

  9. Timeline • Instructional Focus Documents: - June 1, 2008 for the first semester, unless otherwise noted - June 15, 2008 for the second semester unless otherwise noted

  10. Timeline • IFDs anchor instruction. • IF CSCOPE units are not utilized by teachers, lessons developed at the campus level should follow IFD.

  12. Timeline • Unit Lessons: - August 1, 2008 for the first semester, unless otherwise noted - October 10, 2008 for the second semester, unless otherwise noted

Timeline • Documented technical edits (typographical, web links, formatting, etc.) for all 2007-2008 lessons currently being evaluated and addressed as necessary. • Minor content edits will be conducted in June and July. • Lessons will be available over the course of the summer, BUT the lessons will NOTbe considered final until dates noted in previous slide.

  14. Timeline • Please DO NOT download lessons until August 1st!!! • District planning template will be available to allow districts to develop customized lessons based on the exemplars.

  15. Timeline • Spanish Language Arts (grades 4-5) completed for the first semester by August 27, 2008. • Spanish translations for math, science, and social studies completed by August 27, 2008 for the first semester and November 27, 2008 for the second semester.

  16. Timeline • Resource List Update: 12 Region 2 librarians will recruited to assist the regional librarian to compile the ELA literature list.

  17. Assessment Update • Assessments will be reviewed and edited for alignment with the Instructional Focus Documents. • CSCOPE assessments are unit tests only.

CSCOPE Developer Update • CSCOPE Developer online management system will have a new interface that is more intuitive and user friendly. • The site is now completely dynamic (real time). • No more data pops or waiting for units to populate.  • Once they are posted they are available to everyone.

  21. CSCOPE Developer Update • Users will be able to multi task (i.e. work on a lesson plan and bring up an IFD at the same time, etc.) • Using the containers will make searching, sorting and printing easier and faster.

  22. CSCOPE Developer Update • New interface will be unveiled around May 19th. • Developer training dates will be sent via electronic mail.

  23. CSCOPE Developer Update • Important – Administrators and teachers will need to continue to become more proficient with the system and its components. • All lesson plan data will remain intact and function as normal.  The upgrade will not affect any of the districts locally generated data.

  24. CSCOPE Commitment Documents • Continued implementation of curriculum and instructional components for 2008-09 • Curriculum Coop Document – Located in Programs and Services Booklet • District User License Agreement (DULA) – Due May 30th
