  2. When was the Cretaceous Period? The Cretaceous Period was from 146 million years ago to 65 million years ago http://science.discovery.com/videos/hot-videos-mammals-vs-dinos/

  3. What are the types of plants that existed back then? There are many types of plants that where alive back then, some of them were ferns, cycads, and conifers.

  4. Ferns • Fern became the flowering plants but they flourished in the hot and wet environment • It served as a food supply to many animals

  5. Cycads • Cycads are seed plants typically characterized by a stout and woody(ligneous) trunk with a crown of large, hard and stiff, evergreen leaves.

  6. Conifers • Conifers were very abundant in the Cretaceous Period • They have survived through the whole time • Some conifers include Christmas Trees, Red Woods, and Great Sequoia.

  7. What are the types of animals that lived back then? There are many animals that lived back then but three that we think are awesome are Triceratops, king of the plants, Megaladon, king of the seas, and Spinosaurus, king of the Land.

  8. Triceratops • A full grown Triceratops could reach the weight of 6 tons • The horns of a triceratops could reach the length of three feet long

  9. Megaladon • Megaladon’s teeth could reach 7 Inches long • They could reach 60 feet long

  10. Spinosaurus • The Spinosaurus is the largest carnivore dinosaur to walk the Earth • They had Teeth that grew up to 7 inches

  11. What events that started or ended the time period? The Cretaceous period started because Pangaea broke up and volcanoes erupted. The Cretaceous period ended when a meteor hit Earth

  12. Meteor • There is a theory that the dinosaurs all died because of a meteor

  13. Interesting Facts The Cretaceous Period is the final period of the Mesozoic era. The Dinosaurs ruled the planet at that time Many of the Dinosaurs died that period
