  4. Josephine Ruffin • Josephine Ruffin was a leader in the National Association of Colored women

  5. Susan B Anthony • Leader in the suffrage movement. She helped found the National Women Suffrage Association (NWSA)

  6. Elizabeth Cady Stanton • Helped found the National Women Suffrage Association with Susan B Anthony

  7. Lucy Stone • Prominent leader of The National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA). Formed with the NWSA.

  8. Julia Ward Howe • Leader of NAWSA and author of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”

  9. Carrie Chapman Catt Succeeded SB Anthony as leader of the NAWSA. Believed that when fighting for suffrage, women should always behave in a gracious, lady-like manner.

  10. Alice Paul and Lucy Burns • Formed more radical organizations – the Congressional Union and the National Women’s Party. Picketed the White House, went on hunger strikes.
