  2. Course Objective • Students will improve on beginning sewing skills as well as learn about fabrics, commercial patterns, sewing equipment, and sewing machine troubleshooting.

  3. THE GRADE • 70 % Daily Sewing and using time well • 30 % Technique sheets and worksheets

  4. Projects Summary • First Half of Class • Stuffed Bunny • Clothes for Stuffed Bunny • Other projects with approval • Second Half of Class • Shirt with buttons, set-in sleeves & pockets • Other projects with approval

  5. Graduation Credit • This class fills .5 of the required 1 hour credit needed in the applied technology category towards high school graduation.

  6. Sewing Intimidation • No student is penalized for not having fantastic sewing ability. • It’s my experience that students who get bad grades didn’t really want to take the class in the first place. So, if you’re not afraid to sew, don’t be afraid you’ll get a bad grade. • Grade comes from trying new techniques.

  7. Money • Please pay $10 to the office. Bring the receipt to me. • The fee covers supplies available for your use in the classroom such as rotary cutters, thread on the sergers, and some things for the bunnies.

  8. Project Supplies • Students furnish fabric and supplies. • Teacher supplies some • Get on mailing lists • Mom or grandma’s “stash” • Sew for little people
