Clothing. Native Americans. Did you know…. Everybody’s clothes were hand made and they would tan them so there clothes did not rot. Gustoweh. Men also wore hats called gustoweh ,and most had feathers . Breechcloth. Iroquois men wore breechcloth’s with legging’s. Vocabulary.

  5. Vocabulary • Breechcloth, A piece of cloth tucked in the belt at the front and back. • Leggings, two different pants.

  6. Super duper fun facts • Most clothes were decorated with items like porcupine quills, moose hair and shells. The animal hide or fur was sewn together with sinew (tendons).

  7. Native American Hairstyles Men and boys ages 15 and up often only had strip of hair on top of their head. Today we call this a mowhawk.

  8. More facts • The bravest warriors of a tribe wore headdresses made of eagle feathers.
