    2. Quantum’s DXi-Series Complete Portfolio Refresh Over the Last 12 Months New management, reporting and analysis tools – Quantum Vision and DXi Advanced Reporting Replaced entry level SMB and ROBO products with DXi4500 Added new advanced midrange offerings – DXi6500 for NAS/OST; DXi6700 for VTL Now replacing DXi7500 with high-performance, enterprise-class DXi8500 "we plan to add 2TB drives into our new hardware platforms as soon as the new drive technology is stable, which at this point we would expect to be in the first half of 2011" ... "it's a natural part of any technology vendor's roadmap to adopt new technology as it aligns with our product releases... as you probably noticed we adopted Nehalem processors and Solid State Devices in late 2009" and "of course we will also support mixed 1TB and 2TB drives in our appliances, across expansion modules" "we plan to add 2TB drives into our new hardware platforms as soon as the new drive technology is stable, which at this point we would expect to be in the first half of 2011" ... 3. The DXi4500 is optimized for small businesses and remote offices. Protects locations with from 500GB to about 3TB of primary data. Replication and OST support are standard, as is a NAS interface. The DXi6500 family is a series of products all designed to provide simple, affordable protection for midrange sites. All software is included with each unit—deduplication, replication, OST, Path to tape. Systems all use an easy to share NAS interface and they scale in 8TB increments without requiring a service visit. The DXi7500 family, which includes the DXi7500 Express and DXi7500 Enterprise models, is very configurable and scalable, each software capability is separately licensable and scalable. It is designed to be installed in a corporate data center, providing up to 220TB of storage (data before deduplication) and to act as the core system in an edge-to-core strategy. Integrated “Path to Tape” moves the DXi7500 toward the complete backup/recovery/archive solution with a directly connected tape library. Common management and complete compatibility with the DXi family enables Quantum to offer broadest portfolio of de-duplicating data protection solutions. 4. Announcing the DXi8500 Best-in-Class Enterprise Deduplication Delivers industry leading performance: 6.4TB/hr Anchors a multi-site, multi-tier strategy Provides superior total system value

    5. Best-in-Class Performance Throughput up to 6.4TB/hr 3X improvement over earlier DXi7500 platform Significantly above competitive products Leverages latest generation technology 6-core Nehalem processors, RAID6 8Gb FC/10GbE connectivity Includes 15K rpm, 6Gb SAS drives Uses innovative data tier strategy Leverages multiple storage media types for different data types to maximize performance Treats data, indexes, metadata differently 5

    6. Consolidated multi-site support Supports all protocols (VTL, NAS, OST) simultaneously High-performance replication Up to 200TB single system usable capacity* Integrates across tiers Direct tape creation for both short-term and long-term protection For both VTL and OST environments Automatically linked to backup application catalogs May be managed from single pane of glass with common management tool (Quantum Vision™) All Quantum disk and tape supported by same service team 6

    8. Comparing the DXi8500 to EMC/DD880 8

    9. DXi-Series: Technology and Value Leadership This was testing carried out in Quantum facilities in early 2010 using the latest firmware from both companies and a data set of standard business data. Deduplication rates were almost identical between the two systems. 10. DXi Advanced Reporting On-board intelligence for smarter operations, lower costs Standard on all DXi-Series solutions Detailed operational views CPU, disk I/O, port activity, capacity utilization, reclamation monitoring, replication status Flexible trend analysis Holds 6 years of data Flexible reporting periods Maximize system value Chart deduplication performance Support performance tuning Optimize capacity planning Streamline troubleshooting 10

    12. DXi8500 – the Enterprise Class Leader Performance, Simplicity and Value Enterprise-class Performance Fast backup and restore to meet demanding backup & recovery windows Systems sized to meet small to large datacenter needs Scalable capacity to keep up with growth Integrated disk and tape to meet all recovery and retention requirements Make the prospect stop and take notice of Quantum DXi. Get Considered. DXi systems offer a unique combination of performance, simplicity, and value. On the performance side, the DXi-Series offers world-class performance for backup AND restore as well as robust, proven interfaces for FC VTL, NAS, and OST. The line includes many entry points to meet your current needs as well as simple scalability to keep up with growth over time. And the systems include a high-performance tape creation mechanism to improve DR and enable long-term retention. In the case of the DXi, excellent performance does not mean extra cost and complexity. Our systems are purpose-built to make them simple and cost-effective to deploy, manage, and scale over time. I will elaborate on this in a few minutes. In fact, we’ll see in a moment that DXi provides better real-world performance results than EMC at up to 45% lower cost. Make the prospect stop and take notice of Quantum DXi. Get Considered.
