  2. Why do you want to manage your time? • Successfully graduate • Doing good in courses/classes • To be able to enjoy hobbies, interests, sports etc. • Work/Life balance

  3. Importance of Time Management in AUCA • Independent Study • 4 hours per one class in lecture or seminar given so much freedom, students need to know how to manage their time. Some students are overwhelmed with the freedom they receive and are not able to cope with classes and assignments

  4. Consequences • Failing to keep up with the classes • Failing or getting low grades for classes • Failing to keep up with Graduation Requirements, thus staying for the fifth year • Losing the Financial Aid • Being on Academic Probation • Spending very little time with Family, Friends and Yourself • Not being able to enjoy your hobbies • Not having time for anything except studies • Depression

  5. Procrastination • Step 1. When and in what situations do you consistently procrastinate? • Become aware of when you are avoiding something and write it down. Then analyze the list – You will find a pattern.

  6. Procrastination • Step 2. What you do instead? • Most likely “low-priority” task to avoid the “big” one.

  7. Procrastination • Step 3. Motivate yourself • Reward yourself

  8. Time-Management Techniques • 1. Analyze • Your day and daily habits • Your class related assignments • Extra-curricular activities (Volunteering, Hobbies, Sport, Interests etc.) • Family or Friends • Based on the above create a daily or weekly or monthly planner or yearly planner

  11. Time-Management Techniques 4. Making lists • My schedule (For the entire year, day by day) • To do list (mark priorities by As,Bs,Cs) • People to contact list (prioritized in alphabetical order), could be adjusted to your lifestyle “You have to get some sort of regimented, regularly used list-making system working for you. If you aren’t making lists, you probably aren’t making a lot of money either.”
