Highlights from 2012 • DBHDS recruited and has begun training a core response cadre of 35 staff to serve as the Disaster Response Team. • DBHDS created an unfunded position - Disaster Behavioral Health Coordination and Planning. Roger Biraben, PhD was recruited to serve in this role. (also as DRT Team Leader) • Created an unfunded position to support Central Office logistic & operational items to facilitate Emergency/Disaster Response. William “Bill” O’Bier, RN, MBA is serving here.
Highlights from 2012 • Community Service Boards have been organized, EM Contacts updated meeting a “three deep” standard. • As part if behavioral health QA activities organized a VDH / DBHDS / CSB workgroup to review and recommend Psychological First Aid training curriculum for use by Medical Reserve Corps, CSBs and the Disaster Response Team • DBHDS successfully supported DR-4042-VA in Louisa County, Hurricane Sandy and other events across the Commonwealth.
