  11. Analysis • Ran same reports for DC-VA-WV-MD Metropolitan Area • Identified “overages” and gaps in degree, certificate, & WD&CE offerings (ongoing) • Mapped to State and County Economic Development plans (STEM) • Used gap analysis to identify current/future KSAs

Career Cluster Advisory Boards • Pilot program with the County’s Bioscience and Biomedical Advisory Board • Historic programmatic, occupational, and industry trends • Projected growth (occupations, skills, industry needs, regional completers) • Gap analysis • Plan to expand to all CCAB’s in cooperation with Montgomery County Govt.

  13. Student Learning Outcomes • Grew out of previous year’s Mission and Vision Review Project • Identified industry-specific skills • Plan is to map to General Education Program competencies • Assessment matrices for all GenEd courses and programs mapped to KSAs

Grants • Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAACCCT) • Used occupational transitioning to target specific occupations for retraining based on skills gap • Identified key credit and non-credit programs for re-tooling based on gap assessment (focus on HIT/HIM) • Used extensively by Office of Grants and Business Development

  15. Academic Program Review • Started with Health Information Technology • Expanding to all Workforce Development & Continuing Education offerings • Plan to include key data for next version of the College’s Academic Master Plan • Academic Area Review Process (required part of discipline SWOT)

Career Coach Integration • Recently launched Career Coach • Using Career Coach data settings to supplement Analyst Reports • Local and regional demand • Site statistics and popular searches • KSAs and Curriculum review • Targeted industry partner joint environmental scanning projects • Career/Academic Counseling (FYE)

Upcoming Projects • Response to City of Rockville proposal for 4-year research college development • MHEC Curriculum Actions (Diagnostic Medical Sonography) • Middle Skills Jobs analysis (gap between completers and openings) • Targeted industry environmental scans (part of MC 2020 Strategic Plan)

  18. Lessons Learned • Make it public and well-defined • County + Regional for all data types • Growth v. Replacements v. Openings • Data organization – tell the story (example – Hotel Motel Management, Fairfax County v. Montgomery County) • Multiple growth models (best/worst case) • Demonstrate alignment/explain differences
