  3. …providing the servicesthe procedure • Preparation activitieshome (gas bars, cables +29 chambers at Thessaloniki) FINISHED summer 2004 • Stage 1 (Blg 184 :equip with gas bars, FC’s, HH’s+MECCAtest 78 chambers at CERN, test for gas leak OK) STARTED March 2004 - FINISHED Sept 2004 (but 7 chambers) • Stage 2 NOW HALF_FINISHED • Electronic Noise test NOW • Cosmic Ray test NOW • Database NOW

  4. Blg 283 (ALL 112 CHAMBERS) Test facilities shared with BIL team

Stage 2 (Bldg:283 started Oct 2004 after gas leak test) Equip chambers with: • gas supply brass tubes, plugs, valves etc • Mezzanines boards +FC covers • alignment platforms + cables + measure them • HV and readout cables (stiff cables/support!!) • B field platforms +cables • T sensor cables • Protective covers FINISHED 56 CHAMBERS A team of 2 technicians working on them since Oct Since Dec. 3 technicians + ½ physicist (since Jan.) Expect to finish by Easter RATE IS : 4 min to 5 max chambers/week (Greek)

  6. …providing the servicesStage II-Blg 283 (ALL CHAMBERS) Noise test/ Cosmic Ray Test (10 chambers before Xmas+restarted last week) Data base Leak test/certification A team of 1 physicist –S.Vlachos (since Jan.) +½ physicist (Ph.D.student) (from March)

  7. CONCLUSIONS…providing the services+commissioning the chambers Stage I- Blg 184 Finished 6 months ago (but 7 chambers are still bare) Stage II-Blg 283 (ALL CHAMBERS) Half are fully equipped, rest by May Integration has just restarted MAIN EFFORT NOW Expect to finish by July
