2. Mechanical Energy • Energy that is produced by some force of motion, such as water power (hydroelectric), wind power, gas power, or human power.

3. Mechanical Energy • Mechanical Energy is converted into thermal energy whenever you bounce a ball. Each time the ball hits the ground, some of the energy of the ball’s motion is converted into heating up the ball, causing it to slow down at each bounce.

Lightning is the electric breakdown of air by strong electric fields and is a flow of energy. The electric potential energy in the atmosphere changes into thermal energy, light, and sound, which are other forms of energy.
