  1. WP4: Modelling REP losses Objectives: 1.Extend AARDDVARK network to have a better L-shell, MLT coverage. 2.Analyse the characteristics of REP, case by case, and at different L-shells. 3.Develop a model which identifies the size, location, MLT zone, geomagnetic conditions, and flux characteristics of the REP. 4.Refine the REP model to describe on/inside/outside plasmapause precipitation using input from the WP3 Model.

  2. WP4:Based on the AARDDVARK network

  3. 1.Extend AARDDVARK network to have a better L-shell, MLT coverage.

  4. 1.Extend AARDDVARK network to have a better L-shell, MLT coverage. Identify 3 sites, and deploy AARDDVARKs

  5. REP relative to the plasmapause 2.Analyse the characteristics of REP, case by case, and at different L-shells. Churchill: L=3-7

  6. REP relative to the plasmapause We have examples: need supporting data – satellite, interpretation of activity types, riometers, pulsation mags 2.Analyse the characteristics of REP, case by case, and at different L-shells. Churchill: L=3-7

  7. REP Model :1 3.Develop a model which identifies the size, location, MLT zone, geomagnetic conditions, and flux characteristics of the REP. Simple model possible now: L=3-8, MLT=22-04 Longitude : N.Atlantic Spectrum : (K=-2)

  8. REP Model : 2 4.Refine the REP model to describe on/inside/outside plasmapause precipitation using input from the WP3 Model. Describe precipitation characteristics through identifying precipitation type and L-shell: Inside plasmapause: plasmaspheric hiss Outside plasmapause: chorus waves On plasmapause: EMIC waves Drive model by same input parameters as WP3 model if possible.

  9. REP Model : 2 4.Refine the REP model to describe on/inside/outside plasmapause precipitation using input from the WP3 Model. magnetopause plasmaspheric hiss plasmapause Sun Describe precipitation characteristics through identifying precipitation type and L-shell: Inside plasmapause: plasmaspheric hiss Outside plasmapause: chorus waves On plasmapause: EMIC waves Drive model by same input parameters as WP3 model if possible. EMIC waves Chorus and ECH waves
