  1. “God is not a power, He is a person” 2 Corinthians 5:15-21

  2. If Christ were in our city today, what would motivate you to seek Him out? If you received what you sought, would you then go back to your life? What is it about your experience with God that you would desire to share with others?

  3. 2 Corinthians 5:11-13

  4. Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.

  5. We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart.

  6. For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.

  7. Relational Rational Volitional Emotional

  8. All this is from God 2 Corinthians 5:18a

  9. 1. Only by being in relationship with God will we be influenced by the love of Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

  10. For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died;

  11. and He died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for Him who for their sake died and was raised.

  12. 2. Only by being in relationship with God will we be able to see people spiritually and not physically. 2 Corinthians 5:16

  13. From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard Him thus no longer.

  14. 3. Only by being in relationship with God will we more fully experience our new life in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17

  15. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

  16. The Lord’s Table The Bread 1 Corinthians 11:23-24

  17. But You, O LORD, Are a shield about me You’re my glory, and the lifter of my head. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, You’re the lifter of my head. Psalm 3:3

  18. For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was betrayed took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, “This is My body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”

  19. 4. Only be being in relationship with God will we have the desire to see others experience that same relationship. 2 Corinthians 5:18-21

  20. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to Himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;

  21. that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

  22. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

  23. For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

  24. The Lord’s Table The Cup 1 Corinthians 11:25-26

  25. Psalm 5:1-3

  26. Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditations Harken unto the voice of my cry, my King and my God. For unto You will I pray, my voice shalt you hear in the morning. O LORD, in the morning will I direct my prayer unto You and will look up.

  27. In the same way also He took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

  28. Seeking to Grow in Christ: Be a student, not a teacher. Seek Christ in His Word, not through your imagination. Meditate on God’s revealed truth, not on your own personal thoughts. Seek to experience God in a community.

  29. Seek to enjoy your Heavenly Father and Savior in your meditations: Through reading the Scriptures Through reading other edifying material (spiritual not secular) Through singing edifying songs (spiritual not secular) Through edifying media (spiritual not secular)

  30. Psalm 51:10-12

  31. Create in me a clean heart, O God And renew a right spirit in me. Cast me not away from Your presence, O LORD Take not Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of Your salvation and renew a right spirit in me.
