  6. Uniqueness and Characterization of Yad Ezrah Yad Ezrah is an open community of volunteers from a wide range of the Jewish people where we have numerous interactions between the members. There is a “members club” where people volunteer in various capacities throughout the year, each according to their capabilities, so that each person becomes a giver. The way that it is structured is that each person volunteers in the way that they are able to give, and is with the other in his place of need. We include people with developmental disabilities and needy families as well. This allows everyone to help and not feel embarrassed by only receiving help. In addition, there is a group of professional volunteers, who constantly seek solutions to issues that arise and give the needy tools to cope. They “teach to fish”, and not just “give a fish”. 7. Some of the people that grew up within the Yad Ezrah community became, with the years, successful businessmen and felt gratitude and a strong need to allocate part of their profits to tzedakah (charity) and chessed (heartfelt assistance). We receive ongoing support from them throughout the years, partly through donations and partly through low-cost prices. Examples include: Delicious Catering– Prepared food company, with contracts with the army and institutions. Started with the idea that a significant portion of the profits will go to charity. Sova Bakery– Bakery with multiple branches around Israel, started as a joint venture with Yad Ezrah, with the idea of providing baked good to needy people. Tepperberg/Efrat Winery – One of the larger vineyards in Israel that is very connected and active within Yad Ezrah, support us and sell us wine at heavily discounted prices. Kibbutzim and Moshavim (collective farms) that donate fruits and vegetables throughout the year, and at holiday time sell us huge amounts at discounted prices. We continue to seek the correct business model in order to team up with our donors and start a Poultry Factory that will be profitable and allow us to provide poultry at reduced cost on an ongoing basis. 9. Pesach is for all of us a time when we turn the house upside down and inside out, physically and spiritually, which brings with it much pressure, stress and other side effects... Leil HaSeder (Seder night) is typically the most difficult night for widows and orphans, a night in which their husbands and fathers are meant to lead their families in telling over the story of the Exodus, in engaging and creating with them the pinnacle of the Jewish family experience… and their tables are without this voice, without a father… which causes tremendous pain and loneliness… and yet, they must somehow move forward… Due to success in previous years, we have a serious oversubscription this year. We need a minimum of $320.000 for the costs of running this program. Yad Ezrah Activities
