A coin collector’s term for a minting error. Goals – Explore the relationship between non-critical thinking and Authentic Intellectual Work. Vocab. quiz 1. Grades. Homework –Write a well thought out answer to the following for discussion tomorrow: What is courage? How is it demonstrated?

  2. Senior English 9/5/12 • What do you think “mental coward” could mean? How does it relate to authentic academic work? • How do you make a witch itch? • Boltop – Better On Lips Than On Paper. Add it to SWAK if you mean business! Goals – Explore argumentation and the necessity of courage and authentic academic work in school. Homework – Write a well thought out answer to the following for discussion tomorrow: What makes an education valuable? Or not?

  3. Senior English 9/6/12 • What do you think “the value of education” could mean? • What is the clumsiest bee? • BOTSAAT – Bunch Of Teachers Sitting Around A Table. A cynical description of the way important decisions are made in schools. Goals – Explore the value of education and critical vs. non-critical thinking. Homework – Work on vocabulary for 2nd week. Quiz on Monday 9/10.
