New for 2016 • We removed more than 70 questions that are no longer statistically significant • In partnership with NOD, we added questions that focus on the hiring and management of people with disabilities • We added questions on the process of selecting high potentials, including the importance of diversity, and the impact on your succession-planning pipeline • We merged all surveys into one. The hospitals and healthcare systems will complete the same survey as everyone else

Privacy and Security • All data is confidential and is never released to third parties • NJ shield law guarantees editorial source confidentiality • Data is completely secure • All IP addresses are tracked • Data-management practices are in compliance with ISO/IEC 27002 • Data storage complies with U.S.-EU and U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Frameworks • Administrative access to database is limited to 2 DI employees; passwords are changed every 30 days

Key Points on Participation • Companies must have >1,000 employees to participate • Survey is free and list is entirely determined by data • Names of companies that don’t make list are not released • All data is confidential. Only best practices are publicized • All participants get a free report card assessing performance vs. the DiversityInc Top 10

  11. Most Common Overall Questions • Does CEO have to sign off? Either CEO, CHRO or corporate officer (other than Chief Diversity Officer) must sign off • What is NOD Disability Tracker? Not required for Top 50 but must be filled out to be part of Top 10 Companies for People With Disabilities list • What is supplemental info for? Helps determine editorial coverage and certain specialty lists (LGBT, Veterans, PwD, Global) • How are different questions weighted? We do not release this information • Do global questions count in ranking? Only for the Global specialty list. Top 50 is entirely U.S. data

  15. Common Questions: Talent Pipeline/Development • How do you define workforce? All permanent employees based in U.S. • How do you define management? Companies determine that definition themselves but we ask for their criteria to ensure industry consistency • Are professionals (with no direct reports) included in management? Yes • What do you mean by formal mentoring? Mentoring that is run by the company and has measurable outcomes • For mentoring, do you look at percentage of all employees orof managers? Managers

  16. Common Questions: Leadership/Supplier Diversity • Can we include global leadership in CEO & direct reports? Only if they are based in U.S. • We include Blacks, Latinos, Asians & women in succession planning but don’t have separate planning for each. Can we say yes to diversity succession planning? Yes • What does “categories” included in total procurement spend reference? Spending categories such as utilities, financial, professional services • Should Tier I vendors be included in Tier II? No • What percentage of diverse vendors have you retained? Does that mean kept or hired? Refers to continuing use of vendor from year to year
