  4. The Bible is the True Word of God الكتاب المقدس هو كلمة الله الحقيقية The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.

The Bible is the True Word of God الكتاب المقدس هو كلمة الله الحقيقية It reveals the principles by which God judges us The Bible will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

Who Wrote the Word of God • 2Pe 1:21 “For prophecy was not borne at any time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke being borne along by the Holy Spirit.” • They wrote the Word of God الذين قاموا بكتابة أسفار الكتاب المقدس هم أناس الله القديسون، كتبوه وهم مسوقون من الروح القدس2 بطرس1: 21. فكان ما كتبوه ليس هو كلامهم متضمنا أفكار الله، بل هو ذات كلمة الله

  9. كلام الكتاب المقدس هو كلام الله نفسهThe Words of the Bible are God’s Words • In Moses 5 books it is written 500 times that these are the Words of God • In the rest of the OT it is mentioned 12,000 times that these are Words of God أسفار موسى الخمسة يرد ما يفيد أن هذا هو كلام الرب إلى موسى، حوالي خمسمائة مرة. وفي كتب الأنبياء نحو 12 ألف إشارة أن أقوال الأنبياء هي كلام الرب نفسه.

The Bible is the True Word of God Unique in its unity, subject (diversity of writers, 1400 yrs, places, pointing only to Christ) Unique for its stand against attacks (Political, Religious, and Media & Ideological Authorities) Unique in its power and authority – suitable for all, book of all times, God’s words (Ps 19:10 sweeter than honey, Eph 6:17 sword of the Spirit) Truth & fulfillment of its promises (333 OT about Christ, Noah’s people/continents, the Jews) Accurate scientific accounts (the spherical world Is. 40:22, space Job 26:7, the elements 2Pt 3:10-12)

The Holy Scriptures is Infallible • God, the Author protected it from corruption • The Bible said: • Matthew 5:18, “Not one word will pass away” • فَإِنِّي الْحَقَّ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: إِلَى أَنْ تَزُولَ السَّمَاءُ وَالأَرْضُ لاَ يَزُولُ حَرْفٌ وَاحِدٌ أَوْ نُقْطَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ مِنَ النَّامُوسِ حَتَّى يَكُونَ الْكُلُّ • 1 Peter 1:24-25/ Isaiah 40:8 – “The word of the Lord abides forever” • وأَمَّا كَلِمَةُ الرَّبِّ فَتَثْبُتُ إِلَى الأَبَدِ. وَهَذِهِ هِيَ الْكَلِمَةُ الَّتِي بُشِّرْتُمْ بِهَا. • يَبِسَ الْعُشْبُ ذَبُلَ الزَّهْرُ. وَأَمَّا كَلِمَةُ إِلَهِنَا فَتَثْبُتُ إِلَى الأَبَدِ

Be Knowledgeable with the Bible • It is the Word of God • The Bible is complete, infallible, inerrant, authoritative, effective • It is the Logos (The WORD) & the Rhema (Utterance) of God • It reveals the truth of who God is • We find the mind of God in it for HE is the way to be saved from our sins • Will keep me from sin • Sin will keep me away from it • Listen & heed to it • The Bible should be shared, preached, • It is essential for the Christian • Use it deliberately • It changed my life and the lives of many others

Be Skilled in Using the BibleArsenal of swords (Heb 4:12, Eph 6:17) • It is alive and sharper than two edged sword • God gave it to us to battle the world, the flesh & the devil (Mat 4) • Fight the desire of the eye, the desire of the flesh and the pride of life • It invades the darkness and our inner beings • لأَنَّ كَلِمَةَ اللهِ حَيَّةٌ وَفَعَّالَةٌ وَأَمْضَى مِنْ كُلِّ سَيْفٍ ذِي حَدَّيْنِ، وَخَارِقَةٌ إِلَى مَفْرَقِ النَّفْسِ وَالرُّوحِ وَالْمَفَاصِلِ وَالْمِخَاخِ، وَمُمَيِّزَةٌ أَفْكَارَ الْقَلْبِ وَنِيَّاتِهِ. • وَخُذُوا خُوذَةَ الْخَلاَصِ، وَسَيْفَ الرُّوحِ الَّذِي هُوَ كَلِمَةُ اللهِ. • And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God,

Conclusion • Treat the bible better than you treat your cell phone • Be a bee, not a butterfly • Spend time in it, read daily • Understand its words • Preaching makes the difference • Discipline in teaching the word • Diligence in memorizing • Remember it is a heavenly weapon, chart in the sea, light to my path, medicine for my infirmities, source for peace, cause of success, joy to my soul • Php 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” أَسْتَطِيعُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فِي الْمَسِيحِ الَّذِي يُقَوِّينِي.

  24. 2. Archaeology Confirms the Bibleعلم الأثار يثبت صحة الكتاب المقدس • The Cyrus Cylinder, discovered in 1879, records Cyrus' overthrow of Babylon and his subsequent deliverance of the Jewish captives.

It unlocked the mystery of the hieroglyphics which have helped confirm the authenticity of the Bible. The Moabite Stone discovered in 1868 at Dibon, Jordan, confirmed Moabite attacks on Israel as recorded in 2 Kings 1 and 3.

The discovery ofthe city of Petra, for example, helped confirm the authenticity of the Bible's record.

The New Testament: • During the Third Council of Carthage, held in A.D. 397, the twenty-seven New Testament books were declared to be canonical. • However, it absolutely must be understood that the Bible is not an authorized collection of books, but rather a collection of authorized books. • In other words, the twenty-seven New Testament books were not inspired because the Carthage Council proclaimed them to be, but rather the Council proclaimed them to be such because they were already inspired.

Arabic Translations of the Bibleالترجمات العربية للكتاب المقدس • Christianity & Christians were in the Arabian peninsula at the time of Koran in early 1600 • The Koran quoted many of the Arabic Bible • The “MaaMoon” the Torah was translated to Arabic by Ahmad Ben Abdallah Ben-Salam (8-9 Century) • In 750 AD John, the Bishop of Eshbelia (Seville), Spain translated OT&NT to Arabic from Latin عرفت الجزيرة العربية قبل الإسلام، بجانب الوثنية، الديانات السماوية كاليهودية والمسيحية تشير بعض المصادر الإسلامية مثل صحيح البخاري ومسلم وأبي الفرج الأصفهاني أن القس ورقة ابن نوفل كان ينقل الإنجيل من العبرانية إلى العربية. والمتصفح القرآن استخدم كثير من الكتاب المقدس بالعربي (الانعام 155 و 165 السورة 6). وفي زمن المأمون عصر الترجمة، ترجمت التوراة إلى العربية على يد أحمد بن عبد الله بن سلام ما بين القرنين الثامن والتاسع. وفي سنة 750 م قام يوحنا أسقف إشبيلية في أسبانيا بترجمة الكتاب المقدس من اللاتينية إلى العربية لمساعدة المسيحيين المغاربة في الأندلس.

Arabic Translations of the Bibleالترجمات العربية للكتاب المقدس • Jewish Scholars translated parts of the Torah to Arabic in Alexandria in 13, 14 C from Serianic. • Psalms by Abdallah Ben Alfadl in 12 C • In 1847 American missionaries in Lebanon planned to translate the Bible to Arabic • 1854 Smith completed Gen-Num and parts of NT • March 29, 1865 First edition of the Smith & Van Dyke issued علماء اليهود في الإسكندرية ترجم سفر المزامير إلى العربية عبد الله بن الفضل في القرن الثاني عشر للميلاد سعيد الفيومي – وهو يهودي من الطائفة الربانية – ترجم كتب موسى الخمسة، وسفر أشعياء وأيوب عن الأصل العبراني للتوراة إلى العربية. في عام 1847 قرر مجلس المرسلين الأمريكان في بيروت، لبنان بالقيام بترجمة جديدة كاملة للكتاب المقدس، بلغة عربية من لغاته الاصلية باشر العمل القس عالي سميث عام 1848 و ساعده بطرس البستاني –– والشاعر العربي الشهير، ناصيف اليازجي. تسلم العمل الدكتور كرنيليوس فانديك، فنقّح ما أنجزه القس عالي سميث وأكمل الأجزاء المتبقية من الكتاب المقدس يعاونه الشيخ يوسف الأسير الأديب الأزهري اللامع. صدرت الطبعة الأولى لترجمة الكتاب المقدس بكامله في 29 آذار (مارس) عام 1865
