  5. We’ve talked about the privilege gap. We’ve talked about the achievement gap. It’s time to talk about the job gap. That conversation begins with skill building and the role of schools in workforce training. Many students are disconnected from the realities of what companies actually produce or do. They need to know how to “plan” for their future, not just wait for it to happen. Students and teachers need to “get connected” and learn about the educational pathways required to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed. They need to make the critical connection between school and work. Join an all-star cast of business and educational guests as they excite students and educators about what it takes to be successful in the workforce of the future -- and the incredible payoff waiting for those who invest in the hard work and perseverance required. Determine the educational and personal preparation and qualifications that can open the doors for young people to futures that fulfill them and provide economic success. This conference will energize students to continue their education and teachers to engage students in meaningful ways. Genius.
