  1. Abraham and the gods inside of him Genesis 12:4

  2. Abraham and Lot • 4So Abram went, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran. 5 He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot … and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.

  3. The gods that are inside of us • So why do we feel, sometimes, like Abraham when… those we helped “betray us” those we loved “abandon us” those we carried “let us down” those we protected “abuse us” What if… Your loved one left you… Your church failed you… You failed yourself…

  4. The gods that are inside of us • Exodus 20:1-3 • The Ten Commandments 1 And God spoke all these words: 2 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 3 “You shall have no other gods beforeme… but WHY?

  5. Separations makes us grow… • Genesis 13 • Abram and Lot Separate • 7And quarreling arose between Abram’s herders and Lot’s… 8 So Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not have any quarreling between you and me… Let’s part company. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.”

  6. Abraham gives Yahweh the throne again • The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspringforever…So Abram went to live near the great trees of Mamre at Hebron, where he pitched his tents. There he built an altar to the LORD.
