What is it? • Established as part of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 • local authorities leading the coordination of health and wellbeing through high-level ‘Health and Wellbeing Boards’ • Key responsibilities include: • Producing a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment • Developing and publishing a Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy • Improving local population health and reducing health inequalities • Integrating health, social care and public health

Celebrations • One of the first boards to be established in 2011 (statutory board from April 2013) • Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy demonstrates good joint working and collaboration between partners • 6 ‘strategic outcomes’ of the strategy now embedded in plans and commissioning intentions • Successful Commissioning of HW R’ham
