Recent Developments EURO_HRM Model • Introduction of asynoptic observations into operational data assimilation suite (AMVs from Meteosat 5-7-8, Quikscat winds, AMDAR-ACAR, Wind profilers) • Increase of horizontal resolution (0.5 -> 0.25 deg) • Small increase of integration domain • Introduction of non separable BG error correlation functions in the 3DPSAS objective analysis • New post processed products EWGLAM - SRNWP, Oslo 4-7 October 2004

Current Developments • Increase of vertical levels (Euro-HRM: 31 -> 40) • Experimental assimilation of ERS2 scatterometer winds and interactive ATOVS 1DVAR retrievals • Introduction of FGAT in the data assimilation cycle • Development of MOS statistical package for surface weather parameters from Euro_LM model output • Acquisition of local computing capacity: Linux cluster with app. 70 Opteron nodes with Myrinet interconnect EWGLAM - SRNWP, Oslo 4-7 October 2004
