Scope of JASMINcollaboration

  • JASMIN : Japanese American Study of Muon Interaction and Neutron detection

  • Experimental data for

    • Neutron

      • Generations by high energy proton (120GeV)

      • Interaction with matter

    • Muon

      • Interaction with nucleus

  • Radiation safety issue (shielding and activation),

  • Verification of predictions by simulations

     Improvement of accelerator design

Summary

  • Secondary particles from 120 GeV proton have been measured from radiation safety point of view.

  • At NuMI, muon and secondary particle data are in good agreement with simulation

  • At pbar, neutron spectrum has systematic difference between experimental and simulations

  • To explore the reason, neutron source term have been measured at FTBF, systematically.
