  2. Erasmus Mundus 2009-2013 Erasmus Mundus is a cooperation and mobility programme in the field of higher education that aims to enhance the quality of European higher education and to promote dialogue and understanding between people and cultures through cooperation with Third-Countries.

Eligibility • TG I - Students and academic staff registered in one of the 11 universities in the South Caucasus • TG II - Nationals of the three South Caucasian countries • TG III - Nationals of the three South Caucasian countries who are in particularly vulnerable situations, internally displaced population or because of physical disabilities • They should not have spent more than 12 months in the last 5 years in one of the European countries • They should not have benefitted from the same type of Erasmus Mundus scholarship before • They should comply with other requirements as established in the section "selection criteria“

Priority areas • Academic levels: • Undergraduate, Master, • PhD, post-doctorate and academic staff. • No priority fields of study but: • Agricultural Sciences, • Education and teacher training, • Natural Sciences • Business and Management, • Engineering and Technology, • Medical Sciences, • Geography and geology, • Social Sciences.

Characteristics of the mobility programme GRANT AMOUNT EMUNDUS program covers the travel expenses, the insurance costs, and a monthly subsistence allowance of: • €1,000 for Undergraduate and Master • €1,500 for Doctorate • €1,800 for Post-doctorate • €2,500 for Academic staff DURATION OF THE MOBILITY • South Caucasian beneficiaries: • Undergraduate: 6 to 10 months • Master: 10 to 22 months • Doctorate: 12 – 34 months • Post-doctorate: 6 -10 months • Academic staff: 1 month

Things to REMEMBER in the mobility programme ACADEMIC RECOGNITION The participation in this programme guarantees the mutual recognition of credits between the sending and the hosting institutions of the consortium. CALL FOR APPLICATIONS ----Launching: 15th December 2011- 15th March 2012 BEGINNING OF THE MOBILITIES • Date for beginning of individual mobilities: 1st May 2011 • BA and MA mobilities will start from August 2012. • Deadline for beginning of ALL individual mobilities: 30th December 2012

  19. Required Documentation 1. Certified copies of certificates and transcript of records (with translations into English if necessary) 2. Motivation letter 3. Approved ECTS study plan by the home university - learning agreement 4. Language certificates on the language of instruction (a statement given by the home institution is enough for exchange students, but for degree seeking students an internationally recognised language test – TOEFL or IELTS may be required) 6. CV (preferably in Europass format) 7. Recommendation letter(s) 8. Research and training programme (for doctorate and post doctorate mobility) 9. Invitation letter by host institute (for doctorate, post doctorate and staff mobility) 10. Teaching, research and training plan (for staff mobility) 11. Documents indicating the candidate belongs to TG3 (if necessary)

Language requirements • SGGW (Poland), KTH (Sweden) and KU Leuven (Belgium) - English • Tallinn University (Estonia) - English or Russian • University of Tuscia (Italy) - English or Italian  • Göttingen University (Germany) or Graz University (Austria) - German or English • USC (Spain) - Spanish or English • Language certificates: TOEFL (equivalent to minimum 550 paper based) or IELTS (6.5) • Home university statement • Telephonic interview • Other local requirements
