Discovery of Thesis and Avenues • Thesis: Due to the media’s portrayal of over tanned skinned role models and neglect of revealing the dangerous truth, teenagers are tanning more than ever before. • Avenue #1: The media shows the aesthetic affects of tanning and not the unhealthy ones. • Avenue #2: The media does not show what the characters look like when they age. • Avenue #3: The media highlights that in order to fit in, you need to be tan.
