Problems in System Implementation & Conversion • Lack of proper training of employees. • No senior representative at the company who may have been able to foresee problem before it happened. • Poor timing in implementing the cutover to the new system - implemented during the rush season. • Poor policies regarding the idea of allowing individual departments to manager their own projects and not involve the IT department.

  3. Effects of the Conversion • Costly down time. • Angry customers. • Task of trying to winning back customers. • Task of rebuilding confidence level of attracting and retaining customers. • Damaged relationships between New York & New Jersey Port Authority.
