In the future, the United States does not want to rely on foreign countries for oil. • The USGS is conservatively estimating that there are between 3.5 and 4.3 billion barrels of oil two miles below the plains and ghost towns of western North Dakota. • With current prices of oil as high as they are, the oil rich lands of North Dakota is sitting on an oil jackpot.

  5. Oil wells are going up all over the place. Over 198 wells were built last year alone. • North Dakota has over 3,800 wells • Wells bring in around $1 million a year and creates over 100 direct and indirect jobs.

Largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay. • Potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. • Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates 503 billion barrels. • Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable At $107 a barrel • The resource base would be worth more than $5.3 trillion

  7. North Dakotas oil discovery is now the highest Producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years • For years U.S. oil has been considered a DEAD END • “Big Oil” companies even gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago.

  8. Now that we have access of all the U.S. Oil and because this is light sweet oil, these billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 per barrel. • That’s enough to fully fuel the American economy for 41 years straight

  9. More Oil? It has been discovered that we have more oil inside our borders then all the other reserves on earth. In 2006 it was stated that 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world More then 2 TRILLION barrels

  10. U.S. Oil Has… • 8 times as much oil as Sausi Arabia • 18 times much as Iraq • 21 times as much oil of Kuwait • 22 more than Iran • And 500 times as much as Yamen
