  3. Population • 1. Erie’s population is about 4,000 to 15,000. • 2. There is a surge in their population is prier to 1653.

  4. Names • 1. Erie is short for Erielhonan. • 2. It means cougar or mountain lion.

  5. Language • 1. They speak similar to the Huron tribe language.
