  23. Committo Revitalization • 1 • Investigate the emphasis • Register your church • Discuss the emphasis with key leaders • Present the emphasis to the church (revival, growth) • Form a Revitalization Team

  24. Forming a Revitalization Team 5 or 7 Member Team (including pastor) Not an Existing Body . . . Appointed by pastor, nominated/elected by church, or a combination This group’s purpose is to assist the pastor in guiding the church through the revitalization process.

Forming a Revitalization Team • Option One: Pastor Selects the Team • Step One: Pastor presents concept to church • Step Two: Pastor prayerfully identifies potential team • members (perhaps in consultation with deacons, nominative committee, or church council). • Step Three: Pastor personally recruits team • Step Four: Church approves team • Advantage: Members are hand-selected by pastor • Disadvantage: Team viewed as “yes” men and women

Forming a Revitalization Team • Option Two: Church Nominates the Team • Step One: Pastor presents concept to church • Step Two: Church prayerfully nominates potential team • members through secret ballot. • Step Three: Pastor/deacons identify top nominees • qualified to serve and asks them to. • Step Four: Church approves team • Advantage: Pastor avoids scrutiny over selections • Disadvantage: Some valuable leaders not on team

  31. What is a “Design Guide?” A design guide is a resource the team will use to help them understand how to implement changes in the areas they have identified. Each area of emphasis within Spiritual Health, Effective Leadership, and Relevant Strategies has a corresponding design guide.

  34. Intensity vs. Impact Scale Intensity and Impactare directly related The greater the level of impact needed or desired, the greater the level effort/intensity will be necessary No Intensity means No Impact!!!
