  2. Fundamental Questions Pg 89-91 Section 2.5 What is deductive reasoning? Pg 82. Deductive reasoning uses facts, rules, definitions or properties to reach logical conclusions. (Q) 2. What is the difference between inductive and deductive reasoning? One use facts, rules definitions or properties to reach conclusions. The other relies on looking at specific examples and making educated guesses.

What are axioms, postulates and theorems and how do we use them? • Postulates and axioms are statements that describe a fundamental relationship between the basic terms of geometry. Postulates are accepted as true. (Q) • What are undefined terms? • 4. What is a theorem? • A conjecture that has been proven true. • 5. How might we use axioms, postulates and theorems in deductive reasoning? • These are the facts, rules definitions or properties to reach logical conclusions.
