  4. Types of Rock • Igneous • Sedimentary • Metamorphic

  5. Igneous Rock • Igneous rock get its name from the Latin word for fire, “igneus.” These rocks are born of fire!

  6. Metamorphic Rock • Metamorphic rock is rock that has changed form from heat and pressure. • Metamorphic comes from the Greek words meta (change) and morph (form).

  7. Sedimentary Rock • Sedimentary rock is formed by deposits made by wind, water, ice or gravity.
