  1. How To Write A Good Thesis Statement? A thesis statement is a concise statement that explains the main point of the paper using examples and evidence to support its validity. If done skillfully, your audience will be motivated to continue reading the text. Here are some tips on writing a good thesis statement. ▪Come up with a suitable topic. Unless assigned by your instructor, you should be free to pick a topic of your choice. Choose something that genuinely interests you or you may lose focus. ▪Ask yourself – does this topic appeal to a wide range of people? Pick a topic that most people are familiar with to cover your bases. ▪Pick a statement that’s unique yet relevant. If your thesis takes a very common stand, then you’re hurting yourself in the creative department. ▪When you’re arguing a point, some readers may disagree with your points. This controversy creates tension and builds interest. ▪Another important factor to consider is to know whether you have created a controversial thesis or not. Remember that a thesis statement is meant to take a stand on a particular subject. Some may agree with you while others may not. After considering all these four filters, it’s time to work on proper phrasing. The most important part of creating a captivating thesis is structuring the statement effectively. The better you phrase your thesis, the more interest you get from your audience. Here is a simple 3-step process to create a strong thesis statement. 1.Claim: It’s the position you take on the argument. This must be stated clearly to avoid any confusion as to affirm your position. 2.Explanation: Present an explanation which is the purpose for the claim. In other words, what is the claim you are referring. 3.Reasoning: Provide reasoning. This should help you defend your claim. When a thesis includes all three elements and they are phrased correctly, it means that you have written a captivating thesis.
